Robert L. Haig

Robert L. Haig is a partner in the law firm of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP in New York City. His practice includes commercial, products liability, and other types of civil litigation in federal and state trial and appellate courts.

Mr. Haig is a former President of the New York County Lawyers’ Association. He has served as a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Executive Committee and was the founder and first Chair of that Association’s Commercial and Federal Litigation Section. Mr. Haig has served as the Chair of the Committee on the Judiciary of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and also chaired that Association’s Council on Judicial Administration. He is a former President of the New York Bar Foundation and continues to serve as a member of its Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Policy Committee of the Departmental Disciplinary Committee of the Appellate Division, First Judicial Department.

Mr. Haig co-chairs the Commercial Courts Task Force which New York’s Chief Judge appointed to create and refine the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court. He has also been active in efforts to create business courts in many other states and countries. On November 16, 2008, he was inducted as an Honorary Charter Member of the American College of Business Court Judges.

Mr. Haig has written and lectured extensively on various litigation topics. He is the Editor-in-Chief of a four volume, 6,000 page treatise, published by West in a joint venture with the American Corporate Counsel Association, entitled SUCCESSFUL PARTNERING BETWEEN INSIDE AND OUTSIDE COUNSEL. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of an eight volume, 9,000 page treatise, published by West in a joint venture with the American Bar Association Section of Litigation, entitled BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL LITIGATION IN FEDERAL COURTS.

In 1991, Mr. Haig became the only New York lawyer to receive the Award For Excellence in Continuing Legal Education from the Association of Continuing Legal Education Administrators. On May 7, 1995, the New York State Bar Association’s Commercial and Federal Litigation Section presented Mr. Haig with the Section's first annual Robert L. Haig Award for Distinguished Public Service. The Section has named this Award after Mr. Haig, and presents it in his name each year.

 

Todd Kahn

Since January 2008, Todd Kahn has been the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Coach, Inc. From July to September 2007, Todd served as President & Chief Operating Officer of Calypso Christian Celle. From January 2004 until July 2007, Todd was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Sean John, a private lifestyle apparel company. From August 2001 until December 2003, Todd was President and Chief Operating Officer of Accessory Network, a private accessory company. Prior to joining Accessory Network, Todd was President and Chief Operating Officer of InternetCash Corporation, an Internet payment technology company. Prior to joining InternetCash Corporation, Todd was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Salant Corporation, a public apparel company, which he joined in 1993 as Vice President and General Counsel. From 1988 until 1993, Todd was a corporate attorney at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson in New York. Todd received a B.S. magna cum laude from Touro College in 1985 and a J.D. cum laude from Boston University Law School in 1988. Todd serves on the Board of Directors of the Coach Foundation, the Fashion Institute of Technology Educational Foundation, and Fashion Delivers.

 

Denise F. Keane
Executive Vice President & General Counsel
Altria Group, Inc.

Denise Keane serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Altria Group, Inc. In her role, she leads the company’s Law department and is responsible for the Corporate Secretary’s office.

From May 1995 to December 1997, Denise served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Philip Morris USA Inc. and later Senior Vice President, Worldwide Regulatory Affairs, and Associate General Counsel, Philip Morris Companies, Inc.

Denise served as the General Counsel for Philip Morris USA from 2001 until assuming her most recent position with Altria Group. Since joining Philip Morris USA as an attorney in 1977, Denise has engaged in the successful management of company litigation issues and has experience managing legal regulatory issues globally.

During her career with the Altria family of companies, Denise has held various management and leadership positions across a variety of subsidiaries.

She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Denise currently serves on the board of the ArtsFund of Central Virginia and the Virginia Opera.

 

Seth Krauss
Executive Vice President & General Counsel
Take-Two Interactive Software

Seth Krauss joined Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. in March 2007 as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. He is an Executive Officer of the Company and member of Take-Two’s senior management team running its day-to-day affairs. Take-Two is a leading developer, publisher and distributor of interactive entertainment software, globally headquartered in New York City. The Company owns more than 15 development studios located in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia and has roughly 2,200 employees located around the world. Take-Two is publicly traded on NASDAQ. Seth is responsible for legal affairs and risk management, governmental and self-regulatory compliance and internal audit, managing a team of approximately 25 people.

Prior to joining Take-Two, Seth worked at Morgan Stanley where he was an Executive Director in the Legal and Compliance Division. Most recently, Seth served as that Firm’s Regulatory Coordinator, responsible for coordinating all significant regulatory and law enforcement matters in the U.S. and certain major international matters. In that role Seth managed the work of a team of attorneys assigned to handle inquiries and conduct internal investigations and coordinated the work of risk managers, internal audit, and compliance officers investigating and remediating issues identified. Seth also served as the senior regulatory relationship manager to the NYSE and as a senior liaison to several other regulators, including the SEC. Seth also served as a member of one of the Firm's risk committees.

While at Morgan Stanley, Seth also worked in the Fixed Income Division as an interim senior risk manager reporting its COO. During this secondment, Seth led a front-to-back review of the odd-lot trading business, and advised business management and trading desk heads on credit, operational, legal, compliance and franchise risks. Seth joined Morgan Stanley in March 2004, as a Vice President in the Regulatory Group.

From September 1995 until February 2004, Mr. Krauss served as an Assistant DA in the New York County DA’s Office. In 2003, Seth was named Senior Investigative Counsel. In November 2000, he was assigned to the Investigations Division as a member of a select group of attorneys leading long-term investigations of complex white-collar frauds, focused primarily on the areas of securities, banking, and money laundering, often with an international component. His work included serving as co-lead counsel for the investigation into the role of certain NY-based financial institutions in Enron’s collapse, lead counsel for an investigation into the role of financial institutions in international money laundering, lead counsel for an investigation into the use of off-shore corporate and financial secrecy jurisdictions to launder money to evade taxes, and counsel for the twelve month pretrial investigation and four month trial arising from an indictment charging a nation-wide broker-dealer and twenty of its officers and employees with violations of New York State securities laws and penal laws.

Mr. Krauss graduated Washington University, School of Law in 1995. Prior to that, Seth graduated with honors from Duke University in 1992, where he received his BA in history and political science.

 

Peter Lurie
General Counsel & Founder
Virgin Mobile USA

Peter Lurie is general counsel of Virgin Mobile USA, and, as co-founder, he played a key role in the formation and launch of the company. He has broad management and strategic responsibilities, and he focuses on negotiating relationships with key partners, including major media—he has structured some of the more innovative deals in the digital media—retail, technology, financial and manufacturing companies. He has played a critical role in guiding the company from the start-up phase, through its national launch and subsequently rapid growth, the completion of several capital transactions and an initial public offering.

Previously, Lurie served as principal of a private equity group for a German bank, which completed the first public offering of a private equity fund of funds in Europe. Prior to that, he worked on mergers & acquisitions and private equity transactions at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Lurie is a graduate of Dartmouth College and The University of Chicago Law School, where he was an editor of The University of Chicago Law Review.

Leslie M. Turner

Leslie M. Turner is General Counsel for Coca-Cola North America.

Leslie joined The Coca-Cola Company (Company) in January 2006 as Associate General Counsel, Bottling Investments Group. Immediately prior to joining the Company, She was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Akin Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, L.L.P.

Leslie began her legal career in 1985 as law clerk to the Honorable William C. Pryor, former Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. In 1986, she joined Akin Gump’s litigation practice group in Washington, D.C. In 1993, Leslie accepted the U.S. Senate confirmed position of Assistant Secretary for the Office of Territorial and International Affairs, U.S. Department of the Interior. In that role, Leslie managed the office that oversaw U.S. relations with such territories and federated states as American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Micronesia and Palau. In 1995, Leslie became counselor to then-Secretary Bruce Babbitt and director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, U.S. Department of the Interior. Leslie returned to Akin Gump in 1996 and practiced with that firm until she joined The Coca-Cola Company.

Leslie serves on the Board of Directors for the Close Up Foundation, Georgia Appleseed and The Student Conservation Association. She is also a trustee for the Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, and, in 2008, received the distinguished Wiley A. Branton Award from the Lawyers’ Committee for her efforts on behalf of civil rights advocacy.

Leslie received her Masters of Law from The American University, Washington College of Law, her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center and her Bachelor of Science degree from New York University.
