Peter De Leeuw

Peter De Leeuw is the co-founder and a Managing Director of Lion Chemical Capital, LLC; a private equity firm focused on the chemical and related industries.
Lion Chemical Capital is a private equity firm that targets undervalued assets in the chemical and affiliated industries. Focus has generally been on corporate divestitures where target companies have often been under managed. Currently, Lion holds 3 portfolio companies with revenues of $900MM to $1B and has been involved in several other transactions with total revenues of approximately $5B.
In addition to his roles at Lion Chemical Capital, Peter also serves as Chairman of the Board of Lion Copolymer and Excel Polymers. He is also a former Director of Chemical Manufacturing Association (now American Chemistry Council) and a member of the Executive Committee American Plastics Council.
Prior to co-founding Lion Chemical Capital, Peter was CEO and President of Sterling Chemicals. Sterling had $1.2B in revenues with large chemicals facility in Texas City, TX and 5 sodium chlorate plants in Canada and NW US. While at Sterling he completed a $55MM per year cost reduction initiative. In the 2000 fiscal year, EBIT increased over 300% to $160MM.
Prior to Sterling, Peter spent 33 years at Shell Oil Company and Shell Chemical Company where he held positions of Group Vice President for Industrial Chemicals/Olefins and Aromatics and for Polymers and Resins. He was also Vice President Marketing and Specialty businesses, Chairman of Shell Catalyst Company and on the Board of Directors of Shell/SABIC JV in Saudi Arabia.
Peter received an MBA from the University of Rochester and a BA in economics from Syracuse.
Paul Foster

Western Refining
Paul L. Foster is chairman and chief executive officer of Western Refining, Inc., a Fortune 500 oil refining and marketing company based in El Paso, Texas.
Western operates four refineries with a combined capacity of 227,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Western has approximately 160 convenience stores in the Southwestern U.S., in addition to diverse wholesale marketing operations throughout the region. Western went public in January, 2006, and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “WNR”.
Mr. Foster graduated from Baylor University in 1979 with a BBA in Accounting. Mr. Foster was a CPA and a member of the American Institute of CPA’s and the Arizona Society of CPA’s. He is actively involved with the National Petrochemical and Refiners’ Association, the Western States Petroleum Association, and the Western Petroleum Marketers’ Association. An avid supporter of the El Paso community, Mr. Foster is a member of the El Paso Downtown Rotary club, the Young Presidents’ Organization, the Business Advisory Council at UTEP, the Paso del Norte Group, the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, and the El Paso Regional Economic Development Corporation where he served as Chairman for three years. In addition, he has served as Chairman of the Board for the El Paso American Red Cross, and served on the Board of the Sun Bowl Association. He joined the Board of Bank of the West in March of 2004, where he chairs the governance committee.
At the state level, Mr. Foster presently serves on the Texas Economic Development Council and the Governor’s Business Council. Mr. Foster served on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board from 2004 to 2007, most recently serving as chairman of the Agency Operations Committee. Since November, 2007, he has served on the University of Texas Board of Regents and on the board of the University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO).
In 2008, Mr. Foster was appointed to the National Petroleum Council by Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman.
Michael McMahon

Michael McMahon is a partner/founder of Pine Brook Road Partners LLC, a New York based private equity firm. The firm seeks unlevered growth capital equity investments in the energy and financial services sectors. Mr. McMahon heads Pine Brook’s investment activities in the energy sector.
Prior to founding Pine Brook, Mr. McMahon served as Executive Counselor to Rhode Island Governor Donald L. Carcieri on Economic Growth and Community Development.
Before entering public service Mr. McMahon spent 32 years in finance as a venture capitalist (founder of RockPort Capital Partners in Boston and a Partner in the Aeneas Group, the private equity investment arm of Harvard University’s endowment), and as an investment banker heading the global energy investment banking groups at Salomon Brothers and Lehman Brothers. Mr. McMahon began his career on Wall Street at J P Morgan.
Mr. McMahon is currently a director of Bancorp Rhode Island. Previously, Mr. McMahon has served on the board of six public energy companies; Transocean, Spinnaker Exploration Company, Triton Energy, TPC Corp, Marine Drilling Companies, and Numar Corporation.
Mr. McMahon received an AB in American Civilization from Brown University and was a member of the Program for Management Development, PMD 33, at Harvard Business School.
John Moon

John Moon is a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners based in New York. Mr. Moon initially joined Morgan Stanley Capital Partners in 1998 and was promoted to Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners in 2002. Prior to rejoining Morgan Stanley Capital Partners in 2008, Mr. Moon was a Managing Director of Riverstone Holdings LLC where he served on the Investment Committees of the Carlyle/Riverstone Global Energy & Power Funds III and IV. Prior to joining Riverstone, Mr. Moon was a founding partner and Managing Director of Metalmark Capital LLC. He is a former member of the Investment Committees of Morgan Stanley Capital Partners III and Morgan Stanley Capital Partners IV and Metalmark Capital Partners I. Jeff D. Morris

Alon USA
Jeff D. Morris joined Alon USA as President and CEO when the company was acquired by Alon Israel Oil Co. LTD, from Fina, Inc. (FINA) in August of 2000. He provides leadership to the executive team and oversees Alon USA’s businesses, including four petroleum refineries, a network of terminal facilities, branded and unbranded fuel marketing, asphalt marketing and convenience store operations.
Previously, Morris served in several capacities as a vice president with FINA, ultimately becoming responsible for all of FINA’s downstream operations. From 1989-1995, he was refinery manager at the Big Spring Refinery (BSR), where he significantly improved the facility with major capital projects and streamlined operations. At BSR, Morris advanced through various technical and management positions in polymer research licensing, engineering and design from 1974 through 1988. During this time, he developed 10 U.S. and six foreign patents in the field of polymer processing and production. Morris began his career as an engineer-researcher at the Big Spring Refinery, using science and technology to design, develop and enhance tangible processing operations yielding profitable results.
Morris graduated in 1974 from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He is a Texas Tech Distinguished Engineer and a member of the Academy of Chemical Engineers. In addition to his extensive operational and leadership experience, Morris published an article on polystyrene in the Encyclopedia of Chemical Processing and Design. He also has written articles in a number of professional journals and trade publications including World Energy and Convenience Store Decisions. He serves on the boards of Communities in Schools Dallas Region, Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, the Trinity Trust Foundation, and the American Heart Association.
