Summary:

As the economy continues to reset from the recession, Chief Marketing Officers find themselves at the intersection of maintaining and growing market share and being responsible for sustained innovation.

The proliferation of YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and other social media/digital outlets have become bedrocks in the marketing budgets of many companies. In spite of this questions still remain about both the effectiveness of such outreach and the ROI of such endeavors.

These social media and digital trends have caused a shift such that consumers are no longer being marketed to via Madison Avenue, but instead are actively incorporated into marketing decisions, through avenues such as crowdsourcing.  These are amongst the topics will be discussed at the 2011 Chief Marketing Officer Leadership Forum in New York.
