Rommin Adl

Mr. Adl is an Executive Vice President and Global Partner at BTS USA, Inc.  He is responsible for implementing sales processes and marketing strategies throughout the BTS Group and is a board member of BTS Interactive. 

Most recently, Mr. Adl was President and CEO of Strategic Management Group, Inc. (SMG) in Philadelphia, PA.   Mr. Adl was responsible for the turnaround and successful integration of SMG into BTS.  Prior to SMG, Mr. Adl was Senior Vice President responsible for the Eastern Region for BTS USA, Inc.  He has been with BTS for over 18 years in the roles of senior consultant, seminar leader, project leader and account executive.  He has worked with a broad base of BTS clients including Aetna, AT&T, Chubb, Fannie Mae, GlaxoSmithKline, Honeywell, Humana, Swisscom Mobile, Time Warner, Tyco International, and many others.  

Prior to BTS, Mr. Adl was the owner of a management consulting company which focused on strategy issues.  He was a member of the MBA Enterprise Corp in Budapest, Hungary, where he acted as a management consultant to emerging companies. Mr. Adl's experience prior to business school was on Wall Street where he worked for Merrill Lynch on the New York Stock Exchange.

Mr. Adl received his MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and his undergraduate degree in Economics from Middlebury College in Vermont.

 

Gretchen Alarcon

Gretchen Alarcon is Vice President, Human Capital Management Strategy at Oracle. Ms. Alarcon leads the strategy team responsible for applications! that enable companies to align their workforce goals and business objectives.

Ms. Alarcon brings more than 15 years of industry experience to Oracle's strategy organization. She spent over four years at PeopleSoft working closely with customers and contributing to the direction of the company's talent management and recruiting applications.

Prior to Oracle, Ms. Alarcon was Director, Product Management at Icarian, Inc. where she designed new product roadmaps and drove strategic decisions for the company's workforce management suites. Before joining Icarian, Ms. Alarcon was with National Semiconductor where she helped redesign the company's worldwide human resource functions.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Alarcon was responsible for the strategy of Oracle's talent management applications.

Ms. Alarcon holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in American Studies from Stanford University.

 

Ronald Andrews

Ron is the head of Human Resources for all of Prudential’s domestic businesses. Those businesses include Insurance, Mutual Funds, Retirement, Annuities, Asset Management and Relocation Services. These businesses provide a broad array of investment management and advisory services, mutual funds, structured products, insurance and retirement products to retail and institutional customers.  Ron heads the Human Resources practice that provides consulting and generalist support to this collection of businesses.

Ron’s 30 year career with Prudential is balanced between assignments in the business during the early part of his career to increasingly responsible roles in Human Resources during the more recent past. His experiences include various Operations, Sales Support and Marketing assignments in several different businesses up to and including his current role as the Practice Leader for the HR function supporting PIM and PI.

Ron is known for managing Human Resources as an integral part of the business process. His bias toward practicality and leadership accountability has served the HR function and the business well.

Ron is a Dartmouth College alumnus and holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources designation (SPHR) as well as certificates from the Institute for Applied Management and Law in employment law and human resources management. His courage and creativity as an HR leader have been noted in several publications over the years including HR Magazine, Black Enterprise and several local newspapers.

Ron, as Chairperson of the Business Advisory Council for the School of Business at the College of New Jersey, led the council through the process of seeking and acquiring accreditation. Among the many awards and acknowledgements he’s received is the “Eagle Award” granted by the National Eagle Leadership Institute, which honors culturally diverse professionals achieving their leadership potential.  Ron is currently a member of Board of Directors for Integrity House, a drug treatment and prevention agency based out of Newark and he was recently appointed to the Board of WBGO Jazz, also here in Newark.

Ron lives with his three children in South Orange, New Jersey.

Mike Bixler

As Vice President, Implementation and Technology Services for SourceRight Solutions, Mike Bixler holds responsibility for Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), Managed Services (MSP) and large staffing program implementations. He also manages the deployment, integration and support of all software included in SourceRight Solutions’ client engagements. 

Bixler joined the company in 1998. Prior to his current position, he has been the company’s National Recruiting Director, Operations Director, and Director of IT Systems. He oversees SourceRight’s award-winning Recruitment Analytics Platform (RAP) team and has been responsible for more than 50 deployments of vendor and recruiting management systems. Bixler is also involved in pre-sales support, providing tailored solution designs that address customer needs for contingent, direct-hire and services-based talent requirements.

Jackie Brova

As Executive Vice President of HR, Jackie leads a global team responsible for leadership development, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, HRIS, employee relations, and employee communications.

Her previous experience includes roles as General Manager of Corporate Compensation and Benefits as well as Manager, Union Relations at Bethlehem Steel. She graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Labor Studies and received an MBA from Moravian College. She also attended the University of Virginia’s Executive Development Program at the Darden School.  Jackie currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Labor Studies and Employment Relations Affiliate Alumni Board at Penn State University.

 

Chris Casazza

Prior to joining Broadridge, Maryjo spent thirteen years with PepsiCo Human Resources. In her last role, Maryjo was the Vice President of Talent Sustainability, where she led the coordination of talent management and development processes for the largest division in PepsiCo with 100,000 associates in North and South America.   In previous positions, she held two key assignments outside of the US for PepsiCo.  The first was head of HR for Gamesa, a division of PepsiCo based in Monterrey, Mexico with 15,000 associates.  In that role, Maryjo led the organization in achieving the highest employee organizational health survey results in PepsiCo and Mexico’s #1 Consumer Packaged Goods Company in the Great Place to Work Survey.  The second position was the head of human resources for Pepsi-QTG Canada in Toronto, Canada where she led the integration of Pepsi, Quaker and Tropicana into one business unit.

She has an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BA from Catholic University of America.   Maryjo and her husband currently reside in Scarsdale, New York and have 5 children. They enjoy to spending time with their children and travelling.

 

Nancy Davis

Davis also edited monthly and weekly publications serving federal, state and local government officials and school boards, and has written on diverse topics for national newspapers and magazines. Christine Deputy

As Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Christine leads the team responsible for employee recruitment, compensation, benefits, leadership and development, policy development, and employee health and wellness at the corporate level.

Christine joined Dunkin’ Brands from Starbucks, where she served in Hong Kong as Vice President, Partner Resources, Asia Pacific Region. In more than a decade with Starbucks, her responsibilities included global staffing, talent management and field human resources. Prior to Starbucks, Christine spent eight years with Thomas Cook based in Canada, the United States and England. She graduated with a degree in psychology from George Washington University in Washington, DC.

 

Barbara Felker

Barbara Felker is Vice President of Human Resources for the North Shore-LIJ Health System, one of metro New York’s largest healthcare organizations with nearly 42,000 employees. In her role as Vice President, Ms. Felker is responsible for Talent Acquisition and Talent Management, which include leadership and workforce development.  Ms. Felker is also a certified leadership coach and faculty member of the Health System’s Center for Learning and Innovation.

Ms. Felker has more than 15 years experience in diverse industries that include talent management, labor relations and state legislation. Before joining North Shore-LIJ, she held various leadership positions at companies including New York Presbyterian’s Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, HR Dynamics Consulting, Inc., in addition to the NY State Legislature. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the 1199 SEIU Child Care Corp. 
 
Ms. Felker obtained a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from The New School’s Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy.  As an active member in her community, she has also served as Vice President of her local Community School Board, a member of the Community Advisory Board for the Queens Hospital Center, and was certified by the Queens Community Mediation Services to mediate cases from the NY State Court System.

 

Jody Gastfriend

Jody Gastfriend, VP of Care Management at Care.com, is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in the field of eldercare. 

Ms. Gastfriend’s broad range of leadership positions include: Director of the Department of Social Services and Case Management at a community hospital, Clinical Supervisor within the Social Service Department of Massachusetts General Hospital, Chief Operating Officer of a 200-nurse Medicare-certified home health care agency, and Director of Adult Care Services within a company serving over 130,000 employees, where Ms. Gastfriend established a successful corporate eldercare division. 

Ms. Gastfriend has provided expert consultation to individuals, health care organizations, professional societies, universities, and corporations in the field of eldercare. She has lectured widely on topics related to aging, eldercare and work/family balance to audiences that include family caregivers, HR administrators, health care professionals and policymakers and was recently quoted in a USA Weekend series on caregiving. 

In addition, Ms. Gastfriend shares the personal journey of her clients, having helped manage the care of her own parent with dementia for over a decade.

Ms. Gastfriend completed her undergraduate studies at Tufts University and received a Masters Degree in Social Work from Simmons College School of Social Work. 

 

Andrew Goodman

Jackie Gordon

Jackie Gordon is the Sr. Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer for the YMCA of the USA in Chicago and has been there since 2009.  From 2001 until 2009, Jackie had held a number of positions with the YMCA of Greater San Antonio including Sr. V.P. of Human Resources and Risk Management.   Before she joined the YMCA, Jackie had been the Vice President of Human Resources for a number of retail companies:  The Home Depot Stores, Builders Square Stores ( Kmart Corp), and HEB  Grocery Stores in Texas and Mexico.  Jackie is a graduate of University of Houston with a B.A. degree in English and Speech.  She is a lifetime certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Nicole Kahny

Nicole Kahny is a Talent Management executive with over 20 years of cross functional leadership experience in specialist and business focused roles.  Her cross industry background includes Pharmaceuticals, Aerospace/Defense, Financial Services and Consulting where she has worked for companies ranking in the Fortune 100 including Nationwide, Pfizer and Lockheed Martin.  Most recently she served as Vice President, Talent Management and Senior Leader Capability at Pfizer.  As part of a broader HR strategy, Nicole focused on building the capability of the Pfizer organization to be high-performing and adaptive. She was responsible for driving the evolution of Pfizer’s Talent Management and Senior Leader practices and programs.  She also supported HR for HR with a particular focus on HR redesign and HR capability building.

Her notable expertise includes leading large scale integrated Talent Development strategies, leading HR programs through M&A transactions, effectively executing Talent programs in large, decentralized organizations, aligning talent strategies to business strategy and rhythms, systems thinking, and organization design. Nicole’s educational background includes undergraduate degrees in both Business and Instructional Design.  She is currently nearing completion of her Masters in Organizational Development from the University of Pennsylvania.

She has a passion for philanthropy and has served as an organizational ambassador for United Way in addition to supporting other non-profit organizations such as Reach One Teach One, Ronald McDonald House Charities and PBS.  She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Professionals, and the National Association for Female Executives.

Dimitra Manis

Dimitra Manis is the Global Head of HR for the Professional Division at Thomson Reuters and is based in New York. She has been with Thomson Reuters for almost 3 years and started her career there as SVP, Global Head of Talent, where she shaped an innovative Talent agenda, built a leading edge team and successfully delivered a number of high impact initiatives that are beginning to truly differentiate Thomson Reuters as a world class employer of professional talent. She has a strong HR generalist background and deep talent experience with several major companies. Dimitra has spent the last six years in senior leadership roles in France and Australia with AXA Group, a Paris-headquartered global leader in financial services and wealth management as at the Group Senior Vice President, Executive Management, where she was responsible for implementing the talent strategy, management, development and succession planning globally. Prior to moving to France, she was General Manager, HR and Internal Communications for AXA Asia Pacific, bringing to the role experience in the both Australian and Asian markets. She established the vision and strategy for the AXA HR function and devised the structure and operating model to strategically support the AXA Asia Pacific business. Prior to joining AXA she was the International Human Resources Director at Village Roadshow where she created and executed the human resources strategy to deliver operational excellence in service, and restructured the human resources function to build a leading human resources team.

Dimitra led human resources for five years at Nike Australasia. She was responsible for establishing the vision for the human resources function, developing the human resources business strategy and implementing relevant global practices. In addition to her Australian and New Zealand focus, she implemented and supported HR in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. She successfully led Nike to be recognised nationally as the ‘Best Employer’ in Australia in 2001. Dimitra’s other roles have included Head of HR at Nortel Networks Australia Limited and various HR and business commercial positions at ANZ Bank, one of the largest banks in Australia with 20,000 employees globally.

Dimitra holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Business (Human Resources Management) from Deakin University. She is a graduate of the Human Resources Executive Program, Stanford Business School, and she more recently achieved a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (Executive) from Melbourne Mt Eliza Business School. She was a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute for 10 years and has held various board roles over a 7-year period including; The Australian Retail Association and Mentone Girls Grammar School in Victoria. In addition, she worked at Monash University for 3 years teaching Strategic Management and Organisational Psychology.

Chris Peck

Chris began his 27-year career with UPS in Edison, New Jersey in 1984 as a part-time package handler during college.   He was later promoted into management in 1985 while completing his undergraduate degree in Economics from Rutgers University.

Chris has held a variety of operations positions before assuming HR responsibilities in California, Indiana, Virginia and Georgia.  He was expatriated to UPS’ Europe Region in 2001 based in Brussels Belgium.  In 2005, Chris was promoted to VP of HR & Labour for Europe, the Middle East & Africa, with over 46,000 employees.     

Chris repatriated to the US in 2010 and joined UPS’ Corporate Strategy group.  He assumed his current role as VP HR for UPS’ East Region, and has responsibility for over 100,000 employees.  

Chris and his wife Lisa relocated to New York City in June 2011.  They have two adult children that attend Indiana University in Bloomington.  

 

Jan Rose

Jan Rose is a partner and Human Capital Market Business Leader for Mercer’s New York Metro Market.   She specializes in the development of talent management, organization design, career and leadership development, and succession planning. Jan has more than 20 years experience as a practitioner and consultant. Jan has held leadership positions in the industry’s top consulting firms and has also held C-level line management roles in Corporate HR.  

She serves on the board of the State University of New York’s School of Optometry and on the Board’s Career Development Committee. 

Jan’s clients include a wide variety of global organizations, including financial services, consulting, engineering, retail, and pharmaceutical industries. Projects include:

She also was Lecturer of Industrial Relations at McGill University’s School of Management in Montreal, Canada.

Jan has a BA in Economics and MBA in Human Resources from McGill University in Montreal. Jan’s recent publications include an article co-authored with Henry Mintzberg, a winner of the Canadian Journal of Administrative Science’s “Best Paper” Award, entitled “Strategic Management Upside Down” in December 2003.

Previously, Mr. Scarfone served as Vice President—Global Human Resources for Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services from February 2005 to June 2006 and from 1984 to 2005, Mr. Scarfone worked for Toys “R” Us Inc., holding several senior human resource positions including, from 2002 to 2005, Vice President of Human Resources, Toys “R” Us International Division.

 

Thomas Stone

Maggie is a twelve-year veteran of Heineken, beginning her career at Heineken USA in 1998 as Planning and Coordination Manager, National Sales.  She also served as Senior Manager of Strategic Planning & Distribution.  In that assignment she worked on a team that re-restructured the entire Heineken USA distributor network and helped to execute the company’s first Distributor Quality Agreement. 

In 2001, she transferred to the Netherlands where she served as Business Manager, Distributor Management for the Heineken Export Group.  She also worked in Amsterdam as an International Distribution Manager and Manager of Channel Sales and Distribution for Heineken International.  In 2006 she was appointed General Manager of Heineken Canada, Inc.  In that role, she presided over substantial growth of the Heineken brand, with Canada becoming one of the brand’s top ten markets in the world.

Before her career at Heineken, Maggie worked at Sound Distributing, an Anheuser-Busch wholesaler in metropolitan New York.  She served in several commercial positions from 1993 to 1998, including three years as Vice President of Sales.

Maggie is a graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle, receiving both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees.   While at Iona, she starred for the women’s basketball team, setting a school career scoring record and gaining entrance to the Iona College Sports Hall of Fame.

A native of Ballina, County Mayo in Ireland, Maggie also was the captain of the Irish National Women’s Basketball Team. She and her husband Glenn are the parents of two boys, Ryan and Kyle.

 

Melissa Wallace

Melissa joined Under Armour in January 2007 to lead the Talent Team.  Her responsibilities include supporting all of the UA business leaders through talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation and benefits, compliance, recognition and associate relations.  She and her team have enjoyed the challenge of recruiting hundreds of teammates over the last three years and support UA growth globally through performance management and succession planning.  

Prior to joining Under Armour, Melissa served as Vice President of Human Resources for Party City Corporation for five years, was SVP, HR for Ann Taylor and VP, HR for Liz Claiborne.  She also served as Director of HR for United Retail Group Inc. and Mandee and Annie Sez Stores.  She began her career as a store manager with The Gap. 

Melissa is a graduate of Montclair State University with a BS in Psychology.

 

Judy Zagorski
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
BASF Corporation

Judy Zagorski has over 20 years of senior HR experience in global multi-national corporations in the consumer goods, industrial/commercial and professional services industries.  Currently, Judy is Senior Vice President of Human Resources for BASF Corporation, the $20 billion North American division of BASF SE.  As part of her role, she was responsible for the development of the process architecture for the development of the HR strategy and transformation.

Previously, Judy was Vice President of Human Resources for the Snackfoods business of Mars, Incorporated and also served as Chief Talent Officer for Mars, Inc. world-wide.  She has also had regional HR leadership responsibility for the Americas for an IT and logistics services business, was HR Director for Honeywell’s Engineering Plastics business and a senior management consultant with KPMG.  

Judy holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and English Literature from Gettysburg College and graduated the Global Business Consortium program with the London Business School.  She is a member of the Human Resources Planning Society, SHRM and the OD Network and has presented frequently at The Conference Board and other professional venues.
