JP Ruiz-Funes is a senior business development, strategy and general management executive with extensive growth, turnaround and international impact across a broad range of global industries.  He has more than 20 years of experience identifying marketplace opportunities and driving profitable growth through mergers and acquisitions, new product development, marketing, cost improvement and sustainability initiatives.  JP has had significant international business building experience, notably in China, Japan and Latin America

In his most recent position, JP was Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Land O’Lakes, Inc., a large dairy and agribusiness cooperative.  In addition to strategy and business development, JP led the company’s international and sustainability initiatives.  He crafted business development programs in the U.S., as well as in China, Brazil and Mexico.

Prior to joining Land O’Lakes, JP was General Manager of Baxter Healthcare’s global IV Solutions business, and VP, Strategy & Business Development for the Medication Delivery division.  At Baxter, JP led strategic development teams in 10 business and regional units.  He executed over 15 transactions including distribution agreements, technology licensing and business divestitures.  He championed significant investments and acquisitions in China.

JP also served as Vice President, Corporate Strategy & New Ventures at Quaker Oats, and as a Partner at McKinsey & Company in the Chicago office.  While at McKinsey, JP was a key leader in the Agribusiness practice in addition to serving a number of agribusiness, food and packaged goods clients.  He began his career with Procter & Gamble in marketing.

JP has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Arts et Metiers in Paris, France.  He is a committed marathon runner.
