Hugh Boston currently works as a Vice President of Corporate Development at Interpublic Group where he focuses primarily on new acquisitions.  Prior to working at Interpublic, Mr. Boston worked in investment banking at UBS and JPMorgan where he advised companies in the media, technology and telecommunications sectors in the execution of capital markets and strategic transactions.  Prior to his banking career, Mr. Boston practiced corporate law.

Mr. Boston received an MBA from the Wharton School, a JD from Columbia University and a BA from the University of Alabama.

 

Andrew Childs

Andrew Childs joined the company in February 2011 in the newly created position of vice president of marketing. In his role, Childs is responsible for all aspects of marketing for the company, including marketing strategy and business development. A senior executive with more than 25 years of marketing and business development experience, Childs was most recently vice president of strategy, solutions, and marketing for management services at Pitney Bowes. Previously, he was with Mercer, where he led six marketing teams in the Americas, and with Automatic Data Processing where he served as a vice president with responsibility for marketing, business development, client management, and marketing strategy. Childs holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from Harvard University.

 

 

Craig Hopkins

Craig is Vice President of Enterprise Strategy, Planning and Corporate Development at USAA (United Services Automobile Association), where the mission is to facilitate the financial security of its members, associates, and their families through provision of a full range of highly competitive financial products and services; in so doing, USAA seeks to be the provider of choice for the military community.

Craig is responsible for facilitating strategic focus within USAA. He and his team help senior business leaders formulate, align and execute the strategic priorities to include understanding environmental risks and opportunities, facilitating the definition of enterprise and business unit target states, setting strategic goals and measure, aligning initiatives to an enterprise future state, determining new business opportunities and developing executable strategic roadmaps for multi-year implementation.

He is also responsible for Enterprise Planning which encompasses strategic planning, operational planning and the definition and execution of key strategic initiatives across the enterprise.

Prior to this role, he was VP of eBusiness and was responsible for the online member experience, business strategy, design and operations of usaa.com and mobile technologies. He also oversaw the planning and definition of business and technology strategies that were executed in the USAA Programs and Projects portfolio. Prior to that, Craig served in Project Management overseeing the enterprise programs and projects, Enterprise Member Service Delivery and Corporate Staff Solutions and Development.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Craig enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1984 and was able to have a wide variety of roles and experiences in his short four year career. After meeting his wife Trish in Michigan and completing his tour, Trish joined the U.S. Navy Medical Services Corps. He followed her for eleven years to Japan, Virginia and back to Michigan for graduate school. Her final duty station was Fort Sam Houston, which is what brought them to San Antonio, where Craig joined USAA in August 1997.

Craig received his Bachelor's degree in Management, with a specialization in Business Information Systems from St. Leo's College and a Masters in Business Administration from Western Michigan University. He and Trish have three children, Jacob, Grace and Zachary.

 

Ken Hutt

Ken Hutt, Ph.D., aims to help companies make growth a repeatable and predictable process. He has helped many in this way time and again, through 20 years of industry and consulting experience working with life sciences, high-technology and telecommunications companies.

Within the Strategy and Operations practice, Ken focuses on research and development, helping companies develop new businesses and profitably commercializing high tech products. Over the past several years he has been instrumental in establishing our Innovation and Growth service line, that provides services that take the core ideas from disruption theory and helps big companies apply them within their environment to make growth repeatable and predictable.

Ken moved from private industry to join Deloitte Consulting LLP in 1998. He is a native of Scotland and graduated from the University of St. Andrews. He earned his doctorate degree in physics from the University of Cambridge.

 

Sam Kamel
SVP of Corporate Strategy
Ingram Micro, Inc.

Sam Kamel is senior vice president corporate strategy for Ingram Micro Inc., the world’s leading technology distributor and supply chain services provider based in Santa Ana, Calif. As a member of Ingram Micro’s worldwide executive team, Mr. Kamel is responsible for planning, market analysis and business development, with particular emphasis on emerging technologies and adjacency opportunities. He will focus his technical expertise on growing Ingram Micro’s business and capabilities in new markets through strategic planning and front-line execution. Kamel joined the company in October 2010.

Prior to joining Ingram Micro, Kamel served as senior vice president, strategic business development at Fox Networks Group where he was responsible for new business opportunities, joint ventures and acquisitions. He joined Fox after serving as general manager of business operations at Microsoft International, based in Paris, France, where he led operational and strategic planning, public relations and marketing, and the country manager community for the $20 billion global sales and marketing operations employing 17,000 people. There he improved the sales operations efficiency and execution and integrated several acquisitions while also leading the development of multi-year strategic plans.

He has also held general management and corporate development positions at various technology-related companies, including E-LOAN, Autodesk and Netscape, and was an associate at McKinsey & Company.  Kamel began his career as a lieutenant in the United States Navy.

 Kamel holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard University. 

 

Jack Kennedy
Vice President Corporate Strategy
MassMutual Financial Group

Jack joined MassMutual in April of 2011 as Vice President in Strategy and Corporate Development.  In this role, he advises the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on strategy, including helping to set the long-term aspirations of the firm across MassMutual's core insurance, retirement and asset management businesses.  His responsibilities include the development of an innovation framework for MassMutual.

Prior to joining MassMutual, Jack spent 7 years with The Hartford in various legal and strategy roles.  While reporting to the CEO, he led an enterprise-wide effort to align the P&C and Life subsidiaries that opened up new distribution channels, enhanced agency sales & retention and provided a more integrated customer experience for commercial accounts.  

He has a JD/MBA from the University of Notre Dame, a BA in Classics from the College of the Holy Cross and spent one year volunteer teaching in inner city New Orleans.   He is also a Connecticut State Golf Association rules official, marathon runner and lives in Simsbury, CT with his wife, son and two dogs.   

 

Michael Kruklinski

Michael Kruklinski is Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Corporate Development for Siemens Corporation USA. In this role, he is responsible for cross-sector strategies, new business opportunities and portfolio management. Kruklinski has led the creation Siemens Industry Sector, as well as the Company’s SmartGrid business unit and eCar initiative.  In addition he is Siemens’ NYC Ambassador.

With over 20 years experience at Siemens, Kruklinski has held a number of senior positions within the company. He has been involved with MIS and organizational development, benchmarking and business process reengineering, business process consulting and market intelligence and competitor analysis.

Prior to joining the company Kruklinski worked as a Senior Principal at A.T. Kearney Inc. in the firm’s financial institutions and high tech industry group. Further, he was Sr. VP and Director of Finance & Director of Business Process Innovations at First American Corporation.

Mr. Kruklinski is a frequent and popular speaker at strategic and M&A conferences, a business board member of American Council on Germany, a board member of NY/NJ/CT Regional Planning Association and a board member of Siemens Caring Foundation. Michael holds his Abitur from Hoelty Gymnasium, Germany with a specialization in physics and mathematics.

Kruklinski is married and has two children. He resides in Northern New Jersey.

 

Kevin Lynch

Kevin serves as the national leader for Deloitte's U.S. Strategy practice with more than 24 years of strategic and operational consulting experience. He advises companies on acquisition strategy, strategic and commercial due diligence, operating strategy development and growth. He has served numerous Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries and routinely writes and lectures on the topic of growth and M&A effectiveness.

Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication from the University of Southern California and an MBA, with honors, from the University of Washington. In addition, he is a graduate of Stanford Law School Directors' College and a member of the Association for Corporate Growth.

 

David Martin

David N. Martin is a Principal in the Deloitte Consulting LLP Strategy practice, and U.S. Emerging Market Growth Strategies Leader. David focuses on growth, innovation and corporate strategy in the Life Sciences industry.

David has 15 years of experience formulating and executing strategy projects for global companies. He has led the creation of multiple product and market strategies for global life sciences firms – helping them to leverage the breadth of their portfolios and channels to market across multiple geographies. For the last several years David has worked extensively in emerging markets and has led a number of strategy projects in Brazil, Russia, India, China and Mexico. He is the emerging markets leader for the Deloitte Life Sciences practice and serves as the cross-industry emerging markets lead for the Strategy practice.

He has also led market entry, market creation and product strategies for major pharmaceutical and medical technology firms. David has studied unmet needs for clinicians, payers, providers and patients in the U.S., Asia and Europe across modalities, clinical specialties and other areas. David also leads the Life Sciences practice involved in helping clients develop health reform strategies. In this capacity, he has advised life sciences companies in Health Information Technology (HIT) strategies in response to health reform around the globe.

 

Kenneth Maynard

Dr.  Kenneth I. Maynard is Head of External Innovation in the Therapeutic Strategic Unit,  Aging at Sanofi.   Previously, he spent 5 years as a Project Director responsible for leading multifunctional teams in the clinical development of central nervous system (CNS) compounds and 5 years in CNS research as Principal Scientist and Section Head for Cerebrovascular Disorders.  Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Maynard was Assistant Professor in Surgery (Neurosurgey) at Harvard Medical School and Assistant Neuroscientist in the Neurosurgical Service, at Massachusetts General Hospital and holds B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees in the areas of Human Sciences, Neurological Science and Neurobiology respectively from University College, London, U.K.  He serves in leadership roles as an elected Fellow of the American Heart Association (F.A.H.A.) and the Society for Neuroscience.  He also serves on the Executive Committee of the International Dose-Response Society.  He has authored more than 45 scientific publications and serves on the editorial committees of the American Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Current Neurobiological Research, Current Neurovascular Research and Recent Patent Reviews on CNS Drug Discovery.

 

Ian McCall

During a professional career of over 25 years, Ian has developed a keen perspective on the challenges of driving change in large organisations, both as a consultant and a senior executive in a top 10 Australian retailer. Ian has regularly worked with Board’s and Senior Executive Teams in some of the country’s largest public and private sector organisations.The majority of Ian’s work during this time has been focused on helping leading organisations deliver measurable improvements in the achievement of their strategic objectives through practical and pragmatic organisational and business solutions. 

Ian is also the Lead Partner of Deloitte’s Strategy and Operation Practice in the Asia Pacific Region, Managing Partner of Deloitte’s Strategy and Operations Practice in Australia, a member of Deloitte’s Global Strategy & Operations Executive Committee, and a Member of the Board of Partners of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.

Outside of his Deloitte responsibilities, Ian is a member of the Board of Advanced Paediatric Life Support (Australia) Pty Ltd, a not for profit organisation committed to the advancement of paediatric care outcomes in emergency circumstances.

 

Jeff McLean
EVP, Global Commercial Strategy

Jeff possesses a portfolio of leading businesses organizations across multiple market categories and geographic scope.  In the last three years he has served as the executive vice president of global commercial strategy where he has been responsible for the business development, global brand strategy, new product development, strategy planning and global account management for a worldwide medical device company.  Prior to his current assignment, Jeff has led both U.S. as well as global businesses primarily in the consumer product and medical device fields.  Jeff’s portfolio of experience in marketing, sales, business development and leadership has earned him numerous awards for excellent in public relations, marketing and sales.  His marketing innovations have been recognized by such organizations as CNN, MSNBC and Stanford University for his game changing introduction of ophthalmic treatment for computer vision syndrome.  In addition, he piloted other market expansion strategies via the creation of new market segments with the introduction of the first Rx/OTC switch of an ophthalmic allergy product as well as introduction of the first non-alcohol mouthwash.  In the business development area, Jeff has conducted a variety of transactions including product and business acquisitions and divestitures, global product agreements, joint development contracts in the United States, Japan and England.

Jeff graduated from the University of Maryland and is currently working on his post-graduate work in the area of strategic leadership.  Jeff  is also in the midst of his in-depth research on what he defines as the three imperatives that differentiate good organizations from great organizations. 

 

Nikos Nikolopoulos
VP of Strategy and Business Development

Nikos is currently VP of Corporate Development and International Strategy with Office Depot (NYSE: ODP).   Prior to Office Depot, Nikos had various senior executive roles in business development and general management with the following technology firms in both Europe and the U.S.: Tyco Electronics (NYSE: TEL), Grapes Communications (Rome, Italy), and Global Telesystems (NYSE: GTS) (Rome, Italy).   Prior to that, Nikos served as a lawyer holding senior counsel and regulatory law positions with Esprit Telecom plc (Reading, UK), Orion Network Systems (Rockville, MD), and the law firms of Blooston, Mordkosfky, Jackson & Dickens (Washington, DC) and Kilpatrick & Cody (Brussels, Belgium). 

Nikos holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, and a Juris Doctorate from the Chicago Kent College of Law.  Nikos is a U.S. trained lawyer registered to practice in the state of Illinois, and the District of Columbia and is also a registered patent lawyer with the United States.

Nikos is also a member of the Association of Corporate Growth.  In addition to Greek and English, he speaks Italian, French and Spanish.

 

Kristin Peck
Executive Vice President Business Development and Innovation

Kristin Peck is Executive Vice President, Worldwide Business Development and Innovation for Pfizer Inc. and a member of Pfizer’s Executive Leadership Team. In this role, Ms. Peck is responsible for Pfizer’s merger and acquisition, licensing, venture capital, alliance management and innovative business model activities.

In her Business Development role over the last year, Ms. Peck has overseen the completion of numerous deals, including ones involving King Pharmaceuticals, FoldRx, Biocon and Teuto.  She also led the team that launched a first-of-its-kind, enterprise-wide, web-based platform focused on innovation to harness the creative energies and insights of Pfizer colleagues to drive continued growth at Pfizer.

Ms. Peck joined Pfizer in 2004 in a Strategy role, and later became Senior Vice President of Worldwide Strategy and Innovation.  Ms. Peck’s Strategy team led the development of Pfizer’s current strategies and global operating model review process. With Pfizer’s acquisition of Wyeth in 2009, she led the global integration, focusing on ensuring the combined companies successfully delivered the promised value for patients, customers, shareholders and other stakeholders.  She subsequently took on responsibility for Business Development, becoming Senior Vice President, Worldwide Business Development, Strategy and Innovation.

Prior to joining Pfizer, Ms. Peck was a principal with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), focusing on strategy and merger-related issues in the pharmaceutical and financial services industries. Before BCG, Ms. Peck worked in private equity and real estate finance at Prudential, The O’Connor Group and J.P. Morgan. Ms. Peck holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. Ms. Peck and her husband live in Connecticut with their two children and dogs.

 

James H. Quigley

Prior to his current role, Jim was the Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (the Deloitte global network). Throughout his 37 years with the organization, Jim has held numerous key leadership roles and built a distinguished track record of service to many multinational clients. 

Jim is actively engaged in a number of business organizations and committees. He is U.S. co-chairman of the TransAtlantic Business Dialogue and his board memberships include the German Marshall Fund of the United States and The Economic Club of New York. He is also a member of the Council on Competitiveness, the National Advisory Committee – Brigham Young University, Advisory Board of the Center for Leadership and Ethics – Duke Fuqua Business School and the Japan Society.

Jim is has a history of involvement in various business and community groups in the United States, including Catalyst – the Center for Audit Quality, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Financial Accounting Foundation, the U.S. Council for International Business, the Business Roundtable, the Shanghai International Financial Advisory Council, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Advisory Committee on Improvements to Financial Reporting, and numerous committees of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Junior Achievement of New York City.

Jim is the co-author of As One: Individual Action, Collective Power (2011), a best-selling book that addresses the leadership challenge of creating environments that inspire large groups to work together toward a common goal.

Amy Radin

Her senior executive roles with Citigroup's Global Consumer Group included Executive Vice President, Global Direct Banking, and Global Chief Innovation Officer. Previously, she served as Executive Vice President for Customer Engagement and e-Business within Citigroup's U.S. Cards division.

Michael Raynor

Michael E. Raynor, Director, Deloitte Consulting LLP, provides consulting services to senior executives in the world’s leading corporations across a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, media and entertainment, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, energy and manufacturing. In his client projects and research, Michael explores the challenges of corporate strategy, innovation and growth.

His first book,  The Innovator’s Solution, coauthored with Professor Clayton M. Christensen, has been on The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times bestseller lists, and won several “best book of the year” awards in 2003. His second book,  The Strategy Paradox, was released by Currency/Doubleday in February 2007. In 2007, Strategy + Business named it one of its top five picks in strategy, and BusinessWeek named The Strategy Paradox one of 2007’s 10 Best Business Books.

Phil Terry

Phil is the CEO of Creative Good, the digital world's first customer experience consulting firm, and the founder of the Councils, a private network for senior executives in the Internet space. Phil's firm has run more than 500 consulting projects with leading retailers, media companies, financial services players and social media startups since it was founded in 1997 - and through its Councils program, has run hundreds of private closed-door sessions with Internet executives.  Phil and Creative Good have always focused on how the customer experience drives strategy, innovation and business impact.

Before Creative Good, Phil worked at McKinsey & Company, Moody's Investors Service and the Internet startup PlanetAll, which was sold to Amazon. Phil received his MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated with honors and the Dean's Award. Active philanthropically, Phil started and runs two global nonprofits aimed at helping spur curiosity, creativity and the innovative spirit.

 

Uta Werner
Corporate Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer

Uta Werner is chief strategy officer for Xerox Corporation. She was named to this position in February 2010. Werner is also a vice president of the corporation, appointed in May 2010.

Werner was named to this position in February 2010 and is responsible for leading Xerox’s strategy development and management activities, and the market research and competitive insights group.

Prior to this role, Werner was vice president of Communications and Business Processing Outsourcing Strategy in the Xerox Global Services organization. She played a critical role in developing the initial integration strategy for the Xerox C&BPO business with the Affiliated Computer Services BPO business.

Before joining Xerox in September 2009, Werner accumulated over twenty years of experience as an advisor to large global corporations and investment management professionals. She served as a senior analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., LLC where she published research covering large-cap U.S. retail names. As a partner with Marakon Associates, she worked with many global and Fortune 200 companies, including Xerox, developing strategies for profitable growth and increased shareholder value.

Werner earned a Master of Science in mathematics and a Master of Business Administration from the Technical University of Aachen in Germany, and a Master of Public Administration from the Kennedy School at Harvard University.

Werner is a published author in Economist.com, Journal of Business Strategy and Harvard Management Update.
