Michael Bruce
Senior Advisor
U.S. Department of Energy, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

Michael Bruce was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as the Senior Advisor for Finance at the US Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) in July 2006.  Bruce is responsible for accelerating the deployment of emerging energy technologies into the marketplace.  In this role, Bruce works closely with various EERE program offices, national research laboratories and private industry to increase our nation’s energy security, enhance our economic prosperity and improve our environmental stewardship.  The National Laboratory Entrepreneur in Residence and Commercialization Mentors programs, the Technology Commercialization Fund and the Department of Energy Technology Commercialization Showcase are among the innovative programs established during his time at DOE.  Prior to joining the US Department of Energy, Bruce worked for the Credit Suisse Investment Banking Technology Group in Silicon Valley. Bruce, a fourth generation Kansan, graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Management Sciences and Engineering.

 

Patrick Fleury
Credit Analyst, Special Situations
Satellite Asset Management, L.P

Patrick Fleury is a Credit Analyst in the Special Situations unit at Satellite Asset Management, L.P., focused on distressed, high yield and equity investments in the North American energy and power industry. Prior to joining Satellite, he was a Managing Director at Willow Bend Capital Management and has spent over 8 years in the energy and power business. Previously, Mr. Fleury was a Vice President, specializing in energy and power, in the Financial Advisory Services Group at Jefferies & Company, Inc. Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Fleury was an Associate and Analyst in the Global Energy & Power Investment Banking Group at Banc of America Securities, LLC. Over the past few years, he has served on instructing groups and as a financial advisor in several notable transactions and restructurings in the sector, including Calpine Corporation, Teco-Panda Union Power Partners, MACH Generating, Star Gas Partners, and Navasota Energy Partners. Mr. Fleury holds a B.A. in Economics and Government & Legal Studies from Bowdoin College.

John leads the PricewaterhouseCoopers' Transaction Services US Power and Utilities practice. He has extensive experience in both regulated and non-regulated operations of power and utility companies and has advised them and other industry stakeholders on transactions and strategic initiatives. In addition, John is a nationally known industry speaker and the co-author of Power Deals, a PricewaterhouseCoopers' global annual review of power and utility transactions and trends.

Arthur Zaczkiewicz

Arthur Zaczkiewicz is currently the director of content at Argyle Executive Forum, a media firm that convenes c-level executives, investors and stakeholders from a variety of industries. Previously, he served as senior editor, financial, of Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) and was the financial editor of the Fairchild Fashion Group, a division of Condé Nast Publications. At WWD, Zaczkiewicz and his team of editors and reporters tracked the $180 billion apparel market, producing business stories relating to financials, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, executive pay, and the equity markets. Zaczkiewicz has moderated and participated on numerous panels and conference calls with firms that include Citigroup, Telsey Advisory Group, Financial Dynamics, Bear Stearns and TradeCard. As a reporter and writer, Zaczkiewicz's work has appeared in WWD, WWD The Magazine, WWD Scoop, DNR, Footwear News, Home Furnishings News, HomeWorld Business, Hotel Business, Newsday, the Times Herald-Record and Ulster Publishing. He has also appeared on CNBC’s On the Money and on Northeast Public Radio.
