Think Tank:

2013 Human Capital Learning & Development Think Tank

San Francisco, CA - Jun 05, 2013

Overview

Culture starts with a company's mission and vision, and leadership is really about how leaders live this with their actions. How leaders align to their own company's organizational values will be what drives culture, and therefore sets the tone for how the business challenges of the future will be solved. You have a culture whether you are driving it or not—make sure you are behind the wheel.

With new learning techniques such as social networking, virtual learning, mentoring and coaching, Learning Executives have an array of innovative strategies at hand for developing and implementing a successful corporate culture. These challenges and opportunities will be discussed at the 2013 Human Capital Learning & Development Think Tank in San Francisco.

"Leadership Speaks"

Culture is often described as “The way that things are done around here.” Culture isn’t created by mission statements or slogans on the wall. It’s created by the behaviors of the leaders of an organization, the symbols of what is valued and the systems that support the strategy. HR, OD, OE and talent management are all partners to leadership in the effort to build a culture that supports the mission of the organization, creates higher levels of employee engagement and achieves business results. What are the key issues for stakeholders to consider when thinking about how corporate culture impacts business results?

  • What are the key elements that promote the successful implementation and execution of a culture change plan?
  • What is the relationship between what leaders of an organization say is important and what is actually done?
  • What is the impact of culture on talent acquisition and retention?
  • How does the HR organization work with the CEO and other senior leaders in creating a successful culture?
  • How is a culture of responsibility and accountability created?
  • How does collective organizational thinking and behaving impact strategy, productivity, team cohesion and engagement?
  • What are the best practices and lessons learned that drive successful cultural change?
