"Developing a Labor & Employee Relations Strategy"

A major objective for a CEO and Board of Directors is developing a strategy, which is sometimes referred to as a high level plan to achieve goals under conditions of uncertainty.  In business, this often translates to a strategy to achieving the goal of  long term shareholder value by creating a valuable market position, determining what to do/not to do to get there, and aligning an organization’s activities and resources. Dennis will describe how he led the development of a people strategy to support his company’s business strategy, with useful principles and practices that can be applied in other settings.

"Abolish the Performance Review? Think Again."

Abolish performance reviews? Drop-kick those performance ratings? Recently, several high-profile companies have done just that! But are we really removing an obstacle to peak performance and employee engagement or are we bowing to pressure from overworked and unprepared managers? The performance review has become a dreaded annual exercise that is seen as a waste of time and resources. By addressing the real problem with reviews, they can become powerful tools that dramatically improve not only the individual’s performance, but the organization’s as well.
