Adena Friedman is Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Global Data Products for The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. Friedman’s responsibilities include identifying and developing strategic opportunities for NASDAQ OMX and overseeing its Global Data Products business unit.    

In 2007-2008, Friedman directed NASDAQ’s acquisition of OMX Group, the Nordic and Baltic market and global exchange technology business.  As part of that acquisition, Friedman negotiated a unique transaction with Borse Dubai, including a NASDAQ OMX’s investment in the Dubai International Financial Exchange.  Also in 2007-2008, Friedman managed NASDAQ OMX’s acquisition of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the third largest options exchange in the U.S.  In 2005, Friedman directed NASDAQ in its acquisition of the INET ECN, which enhanced NASDAQ’s technology infrastructure and further improved its ability to trade NASDAQ, NYSE and AMEX-listed stocks.  Additionally, Friedman led the effort in 2004 to launch the NASDAQ Closing Cross, a very successful market innovation. Friedman continuously identifies and evaluates new opportunities for NASDAQ OMX to grow its presence in the financial community and better service traders, issuers and their shareholders.

In her role as head of Global Data Products, a $250M business unit within NASDAQ OMX Group, Friedman is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all market data disseminated to the public, as well as creating new data products to serve the industry’s information needs.  Friedman focuses on increasing the market transparency of the NASDAQ OMX exchanges for the ultimate benefit of investors worldwide, including the 2008 launch of NASDAQ Last Sale and European Last Sale, both of which provide real-time data to investors via Internet portals. 

Friedman joined NASDAQ in 1993, where she has served in several roles, including as Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President of NASDAQ Data Products prior to her current role. 

Friedman serves on the Board of Directors of the Dubai International Financial Exchange. Friedman earned an M.B.A., with honors, from Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, TN.  She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Williams College in Massachusetts. Friedman lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland with her husband and two sons.

 

Micah Green

Senior Vice President of AOL Business Development

Micah Green is Senior Vice President of Business Development at AOL, where he oversees the teams responsible for deals related to programming, products, marketing, access and paid services, as well as for strategy and analysis; these teams successfully closed more than 1300 agreements in 2007. Micah is also responsible for negotiating all phases of content deals with strategic partners, developing new strategies and business models to help reduce cost while increasing revenue and formulating content and programming strategies.

 

Micah joined AOL in 2001 as a part of the Business Affairs team, where he helped coordinate deals for AOL Anywhere. In this role, he negotiated key deals with major wireless carriers, handset manufacturers and wireless technology companies.

 

Prior to joining AOL, Micah spent nine years with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, LLP within their litigation practice area. While at the company, he gained substantial written and oral advocacy experience in diverse commercial and news-media-related litigation, as well as extensive negotiation experience related to litigation settlement and resolution. Micah was also responsible for coordinating dozens of litigation matters simultaneously -- often involving multitudinous parties, witnesses, legal staff, depositions, decisional cases, trial exhibits and related documents.

 

Micah earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in English, Economics and Political Science from Case Western Reserve University, and a Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law where he served as President of the Law School Student Government and Executive Director of the Moot Court Program.

 

Dave Johnson
Vice President Corporate Development

As VP of Corporate Development, Dave Johnson is responsible for IBM’s non-organic growth strategies, acquisitions, divestments, equity investments, and the integration of IBM’s acquisition.  During the 6 years Dave has led the Corporate Development organization, IBM has completed over 100 acquisitions/divestiture transactions for a value exceeding $20B.  Recently, IBM has begun to communicate its strong acquisition performance, which it attributes to its end to end corporate development process; from strategy, through transaction execution, to integration.  IBM has a number of business process patents pending relative to this end to end process which has yielded strong revenue and profit growth and exceeded a 20% return on invested capital. 

 

Since joining IBM in 1981, Dave has held positions spanning many of IBM’s business lines and functions.  Most recently, he was vice president of finance, Technology Group where he was responsible for finance, strategy, IT, sales operations, and supply chain.  Previous positions include CFO of IBM’s $8B Storage Division, VP Product and Brand Finance, of IBM’s PC Division, and manager of customer offerings for IBM enterprise solutions.

 

Dave is also very active supporting the sales organization with several partnership accounts in  Banking, Semiconductors, Higher Education, and Private Equity.  He is a graduate of Boston College, holding a BA degree in English and an MBA in Finance.

John Merino

Corporate Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer

John L. Merino is Corporate Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer for FedEx Corporation since 2004.  He is the primary executive responsible for the company’s consolidated financial statements, external financial reporting, and accounting due diligence on corporate acquisitions.  He is also responsible for coordinating audit committee meetings, providing accounting oversight to the subsidiary companies on all significant accounting and reporting matters and the design and implementation of financial systems, processes and accounting policies throughout the Corporation.

 

Mr. Merino is responsible for the Corporation’s retirement plans management and administration and is a member of the Company’s Retirement Plans Investment Board.  He is a also a committee member of  the AICPA task force responsible for the Industry Audit Guide for Audits of Airlines.    

 

Mr. Merino was Staff Vice President and Corporate Controller from 2000 to 2004 and Staff Director Corporate Reporting and Analysis from 1998 to 2000.  Before joining FedEx Corporation, Mr. Merino was Senior Audit Manager for Ernst & Young LLP in Akron, Ohio where he worked for 13 years serving transportation, energy and manufacturing clients.

 

A native of Stow, Ohio, Merino received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Akron.

 

Scott Mozarsky

Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Global Development Officer

As EVP and Chief Strategy and Global Development Officer, Scott is responsible for overseeing and executing the Company's growth strategy through organic launches as well as acquisitions. Scott also is responsible for PR Newswire’s investor relations offerings including its IR Room corporate website business and its EDGAR filing firm, Vintage Filings. PRN's small business group and its trade show and exhibition group report into Scott as does the Legal Group. Prior to joining PR Newswire, Scott headed up M&A worldwide for all of the U.S. based subsidiaries of PR Newswire's parent company United Business Media and also served as COO of CMP Media, a sister company of PR Newswire's.  Scott has completed over 60 transactions in Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America during his tenure in the UBM Group.

Prior to joining UBM, Mozarsky spent eight years at two multinational law firms representing media, technology, telecommunications and manufacturing companies. Scott, who speaks Japanese and lived in Japan, has advised numerous companies on business, financial and legal issues arising out of cross border transactions.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Williams College and his J.D. from Fordham Law School.
