Wharton Private Equity Partners (WPEP) is a proud co-host of 2009 Deal Making in the Energy Sector. We are confident that you will walk away from today’s discussions with critical perspectives of what changes and trends are to come in the energy industry. Given the recent volatility, driven by dramatic fluctuation in oil and natural gas prices, this forum will provide exactly the kind of backdrop needed to determine how and when to invest in the energy sector.
For those of you unfamiliar with WPEP, it is the single community created by and designed exclusively for Wharton and University of Pennsylvania alumni who are actively managing limited partner or general partner investments in private equity, private debt, and venture capital.
Our mission is to provide our members with unique opportunities to network with one another in a peer-only setting, to enhance Wharton’s standing in the private investor community, and to support the constructive engagement of the alumnae members with the school.
Formed in 1998, WPEP has grown to over 500 members with chapters in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Florida, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York, Silicon Valley, Texas, Washington, DC as well as a growing overseas presence in major cities including London, the Middle East, Paris, and Mumbai, India.
Beyond high-caliber content, WPEP members have access to the many unique events including conferences such as the Distressed Investing Symposium, exclusive Advisory Board dinners, the Annual Dinner & Private Equity Conference as well as dozens of other regional events. Of course, the membership directory provides meaningful opportunities to network with other Wharton alumni around the globe working in the private equity community.
Interested alumni can apply for membership on our website at www.wpen.org. The site also includes a list of upcoming events and other relevant information. Please reach out to us, or the dozens of alumni on our Executive Committee and Chapter Leadership Board, to share your ideas. We hope to see you at a future program.
