Mr. Blankfein is chairman and chief executive officer at The Goldman Sachs Group. He joined Goldman Sachs’ J. Aron currency and commodities division in 1982 after working as an attorney in a law firm. Mr. Blankfein became a partner in 1988 and was named co-head of the J. Aron Division in 1994. He became co-head of the fixed income, currency and commodities division as of its formation in 1997 and was based in London in 1998 and 1999 in that capacity. Mr. Blankfein served as vice chairman of Goldman Sachs from 2002 through 2003, with management responsibility for the equities and fixed income, currency and commodities divisions. Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, he served as the firm’s president and chief operating officer. Mr. Blankfein received an AB and JD from Harvard University.

 

Richard C. Breeden

Mr. Breeden is chief executive officer and chief investment officer of Breeden Partners and its manager, Breeden Capital Management. Together with its affiliates, Breeden Capital Management has more than $1 billion in assets under management. Breeden Partners is a long term “active stakeholder” investment fund that invests in underperforming midcap companies in the United States and Canada. Prior to founding of Breeden Partners, Mr. Breeden served as corporate monitor of WorldCom and MCI, as co-counsel to the special committee of the board at Hollinger International, and as an advisor to numerous companies on governance and strategy issues. He continues to serve as monitor of the Department of Justice’s deferred prosecution agreement with KPMG, as well as functioning as the distribution agent of funds for victims of securities fraud in the WorldCom, Enron and Adelphia cases. Mr. Breeden began his professional career as a securities and corporate transactions lawyer in New York City. During the administrations of Presidents Reagan, Bush (41) and Clinton, he held a series of government posts, including serving in the White House as a senior economic policy advisor. From 1989-1993 he served as Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission following appointment by President Bush and unanimous confirmation by the U.S. Senate. Mr. Breeden has earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a JD from Harvard University.

 

Erin Callan

Ms. Callan is currently responsible for heading investment banking global alternative asset manager coverage. In this capacity, she was the lead banker for the Fortress IPO and the Citadel unsecured bond deal. Prior to assuming this role in mid-2006, she headed Lehman Brothers' global finance solutions group and global finance analytics group in investment banking. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Ms. Callan was an associate at the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett specializing in corporate taxation. As a tax attorney, her practice focused on new product development and structured capital raising strategies, working primarily with multinational corporations with respect to cross-border capital raising. Ms. Callan has earned a BA from Harvard University and a JD from New York University.

 

Timothy C. Collins

Mr. Collins is the senior managing director and chief executive officer of Ripplewood Holdings. He founded Ripplewood in 1995 to apply an “industrial partnership” approach to leveraged acquisitions. Ripplewood invests in a variety of sectors including: education publishing, telecom, automotive retail, specialty chemicals, consumer products & food manufacturing, and industrial products. Since inception, Ripplewood has invested in companies with more than $20 billion of revenue and has led several of the largest private equity transactions ever. Ripplewood’s takeover of the Long-Term Credit Bank, renamed Shinsei Bank Limited, was a pioneering transaction in the restructuring of the Japanese economy. Prior to founding Ripplewood, Mr. Collins managed Onex Corporation’s New York office. Previously, he was a vice president at Lazard Frères & Co., in New York and from 1981 to 1984, he worked with the management-consulting firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc., specializing in strategic and operational assignments with major industrial and financial firms. He began his career in finance, marketing, and manufacturing at Cummins Engine Company in 1974. Mr. Collins has earned a BA in philosophy from DePauw University and a MBA in public and private management from Yale University.

 

Carly Fiorina

Ms. Fiorina is a former chairman and chief executive officer at Hewlett-Packard. She joined HP in 1999 and led the reinvention of the company many associate with the birth of Silicon Valley, returning HP to its roots of innovation and inventiveness. Ms. Fiorina successfully led HP's controversial merger with Compaq Computer, which many see as the most successful high-tech merger in history. In keeping with more than six decades of HP corporate stewardship, and during a time when corporations make up 51 of the 100 largest economies in the world, Ms. Fiorina called for a new era of leadership, one in which corporate leaders have an opportunity to redefine the role of the corporation, to use profit engines to raise the capabilities, extend the hopes, and extinguish despair of people across the globe. Prior to joining HP, she spent nearly 20 years at AT&T and Lucent Technologies, where she held a number of senior leadership positions and directed Lucent's initial public offering and subsequent spin-off from AT&T. Ms. Fiorina has earned a BA in medieval history and philosophy from Stanford University, an MBA from the University of Maryland at College Park and an MS in management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

Maurice R. Greenberg

Mr. Greenberg recently retired as Chairman and CEO of AIG after over 40 years of leadership that created the largest insurance company in history, and generated unprecedented value for shareholders. During Mr. Greenberg's tenure, AIG rose from $300 million in market value to approximately $155 billion of market value. At AIG, Mr. Greenberg pioneered the global trade in services that opened markets for the insurance industry around the world. In addition, Mr. Greenberg broadened AIG's business model by developing the largest commercial underwriting unit in the United States, building the number one life insurer in the world (when combining U.S. and foreign life operations) and creating a financial services division and asset management business that has decreased AIG's vulnerability to traditional insurance cycles. Mr. Greenberg has earned an LLB from New York Law School.

 

Glenn Hubbard

Professor Hubbard is dean of Columbia Business School the Russell L. Carson Professor of Finance and Economics. Prior to becoming dean, he was the co-director of Columbia Business School’s Entrepreneurship Program. In government, Professor Hubbard was the chairman of the United States Council of Economic Advisors under President George W. Bush. While serving as CEA chairman, he also chaired the Economic Policy Committee of the OECD. Previously, Professor Hubbard was deputy assistant secretary of the United States Treasury Department for Tax Policy where he supervised administration efforts on revenue estimates, tax reform and health policy. Professor Hubbard has been a visiting professor at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and Harvard Business School as well as the University of Chicago. He also held the John M. Olin Fellowship at the National Bureau of Economic Research, at which he remains affiliated with research programs in monetary economics, public economics, corporate finance and industrial organization. Additionally, he is a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington and a member of the International Advisory Board of the MBA Program of Ben-Gurion University. Professor Hubbard has earned a BA and BS from the University of Central Florida and an MA and PhD in economics from Harvard University.

 

Carl Icahn

Mr. Icahn is the chairman and chief executive officer at Icahn Associates. He began his career on Wall Street in 1961. In 1968, Mr. Icahn formed Icahn & Co., a securities firm that focused on risk arbitrage and options trading. In 1978, he began taking control positions in individual companies. As a shareholder activist, Mr. Icahn believes his efforts have unlocked billions of dollars of shareholder and bondholder value and have improved the competitiveness of American companies. Mr. Icahn and his affiliated companies currently own businesses in a wide range of industries, including real estate, gaming, energy, telecommunications, transportation, industrial services, and manufacturing. Companies in which Mr. Icahn and his affiliates currently own majority positions include ACF Industries, American Railcar, XO Communications, Philip Services, American Real Estate Partners, and American Casino and Entertainment Partners. He also owns stakes in many other public companies. Mr. Icahn has earned a degree in philosophy from Princeton University.

Catherine Kinney

Ms. Kinney is president and co-chief operating officer of NYSE Group. From January 2002 to March 7, 2006, she served as president and co-chief operating officer of the NYSE. Previously, Ms. Kinney served as group executive vice president of the NYSE since June 1995, overseeing the NYSE’s competitive position and relationships with its listed companies, member organizations and institutions as well as ETFs and Fixed Income divisions. Earlier, she was responsible for managing trading-floor operations and technology.

Eric Mindich

Mr. Mindich is founder and chief executive officer of Eton Park Capital Management. Prior to forming Eton Park in 2004, Mr. Mindich spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs in two main roles: leading the firm's equities arbitrage business and managing the firm's equities division. Mr. Mindich joined the firm in 1988 in the equities arbitrage department and ran that department from 1992 until 2000. At age 27 he became the youngest partner ever in the history of Goldman Sachs. In 2000, Mr. Mindich became co-chief operating officer of the equities division and in 2002 became co-head of the equities division and a member of the Goldman Sachs management committee. In 2003, he joined the executive office as senior strategy officer and chair of the firmwide strategy committee. Mr. Mindich graduated from Harvard College with a BA in economics.

Mark Nunnelly

Mr. Nunnelly joined Bain Capital in 1990 as a Managing Director. Prior to joining Bain Capital, he was a vice president at Bain & Company, with experience in the domestic, Asian and European strategy practices. At Bain & Company, Mr. Nunnelly managed client relationships in a number of areas, including manufacturing, consumer goods and information services. Previously, he worked at Procter & Gamble in product management. He also founded and had operating responsibility for several new ventures. Currently, Mr. Nunnelly sits on the Board of Directors of Dunkin’ Brands, Domino’s Pizza, Warner Music Group, DoubleClick, and Eschelon Telecom. Mr. Nunnelly earned a BA from Centre College and an MBA from Harvard University.

Henry M. Paulson, Jr.

Before coming to Treasury, Secretary Paulson was chairman and chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1974 in the Chicago office and became a partner in 1982. From 1983 until 1988, Secretary Paulson headed up investment banking services for the Midwest region and became managing partner of the Chicago office in 1988. In 1990, he was named co-head of the firm's investment banking division, and in 1994 he rose to the position of president and chief operating officer. In 1998, he was named co-senior partner, and with the firm's public offering in 1999, became chairman and chief executive officer. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Secretary Paulson was a member of the White House Domestic Council, serving as staff assistant to the president from 1972 to 1973, and as staff assistant to the assistant secretary of defense at the Pentagon from 1970 to 1972. Secretary Paulson earned a bachelors degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard University.

Stephen A. Schwarzman

As chairman, CEO and co-founder of The Blackstone Group, Mr. Schwarzman has been involved in all phases of the firm’s development since its founding in 1985 and approves all capital commitments by the firm. Mr. Schwarzman began his career at Lehman Brothers, where he was elected managing director in 1978 at the age of 31. He was engaged principally in the firm’s mergers and acquisitions business from 1977 to 1984, and served as chairman of the firm’s mergers & acquisitions committee in 1983 and 1984.

Sageview Capital is a $1.3 billion investment firm which brings a “private equity approach” to public market investing and selectively pursues private equity transactions. Previously, Mr. Stuart was an executive at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Co. Founded in 1976, KKR is one of the world's oldest and most experienced global private equity firms. Mr. Stuart was at KKR from 1986 to 2005 and became Partner at the end of 1994. He served on KKR's five-member investment committee from its inception in 2000 until his departure in 2005. While at KKR, Mr. Stuart worked on numerous transactions including Texas Genco, KKR Financial Corp., Sealy, The Boyds Collection, Borden, Elmers, Dayton Power & Light, World Kitchen, World Color Press, Newsquest Media Group, Duracell International, Glenisla Group, KSL Recreation Corporation, AEP Industries, and RJR Nabisco. Earlier, Mr. Stuart was with Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb, where he worked in the mergers and acquisitions department. Mr. Stuart has earned a BA in English literature from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Stanford University.
