Tom August (CISSP, CPHIMS) is a recognized industry thought-leader with over 25 years of experience in designing, implementing and leading risk management programs. Tom has made a career of specializing in governance processes, policies, and risk management activities designed to balance risk and compliance drivers with strategic business goals and operational objectives.
Tom currently serves as Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer for John Muir Health. John Muir Health is nationally recognized healthcare leader comprised of two acute care hospitals (one a designated trauma center), a behavioral health center, and community health practices scattered throughout the east San Francisco bay area. As CISO, Tom has overall responsibility for assessing, measuring, addressing and reporting on technology risk and compliance matters across the entire health system.
Prior to joining John Muir Health, Tom served in Information Security and IT Audit leadership roles at Sharp Healthcare, Sony Corporation, Pacific Life Insurance Company, Deloitte and Ernst & Young. Tom has served on the leadership Board of Directors for the National Health Information Sharing & Analysis Center (NH-ISAC), is a co-author of “The CISO Handbook”, and is a featured speaker at healthcare and information security conferences.

Floyd Fernandes is the Chief Information Security Officer for CBSi. He has 21+ years of experience in information technology & information security in a range of industries from financials, software and telco having worked across the globe in Fortune 500 organizations. He currently leads the information security strategy for CBS Interactive's online content network & operations. Floyd manages and leads the application, platform & mobile security practices. Previously he founded the Product Security program at Autodesk during its business transformation to the cloud. He has extensive experience in secure architecture, design, testing and incident response handling. Floyd holds a Master's in Enterprise Architecture from Penn State and undergraduate degree in Computer Science from New Zealand as well as multiple industry certifications in security and networking.

Raj Patel, Currently the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the City of Palo Alto, California is a multiple award-winning cybersecurity leader whose 30-year career has spanned both the private and public sectors. In 2016, Raj has received an Award of Excellence for Cybersecurity Leadership in California for championing a forward thinking and innovative cybersecurity strategies in the private sector and government sectors.
Since joining the City of Palo Alto in 2012, Raj has institutionalized 3 years cybersecurity strategy with a bold vision “To build and enable a secured digital city,” which has resulted in winning the “Leading Smart City” award for three years in a row. As CISO at the City of Palo Alto Raj has established an Information Security Steering Committee comprised of executive management and developed an information security strategy and roadmap for future activities. In support of the strategy to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information systems that support the operations and assets of the City, he has implemented an ISO 27001-based (Information Security Management Systems) security framework and created a new Information Security and Privacy Policies.
Beginning his career in the private sector, he has established a Six Sigma-based Quality Manufacturing System (QMS) that resulted in winning the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. He also wrote an award-winning research paper on Just in Time Manufacturing and ERP-MRP II (Enterprise Manufacturing Resource Planning), published in the APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) journal.
