Al made his first "life-pivot" in 1998 when he moved from the Detroit auto industry (electrical engineer + developer) to being the 2nd employee and equity owner at a San Diego startup which was later acquired. He's been involved with startups ever since.
Aside from that he's also founded two companies of his own, sold one, raised money from both VCs and angels, and is a graduate of both the TechStars and Founder Institute accelerator programs. He was most recently the CEO of Email Copilot which was acquired by Return Path, and is now the VP of Data and Analytics at Seismic.
His technical background and business acumen have led him down a path to building and managing a team of data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts that are building amazing A.I., machine learning, and analytics products.
He's got a loving wife, a son, a dog, a beach volleyball addiction, a thirst for new technologies, and a startup that keep him (in)sane!

Maria D’Errico is the Head of Marketing Services at BNY Mellon. She is an accomplished business professional with a distinguished record of leading branding and marketing communications challenges for diverse brands and businesses on a global basis. With 20+ years’ experience in developing award-winning integrated marketing campaigns, Maria has a history of building successful teams and directing brand-building initiatives for B2B and B2C segments.
Maria has experience in dynamic industries, starting in health care and transitioning to financial services. Beyond brand management and marketing communications, she gained experience in industry consolidation and merger and acquisitions.
Maria joined The Bank of New York in 1998. She holds an MBA and BS in finance/marketing from Fordham University.

Rana Severs has been with Balfour Beatty for eight years and is Vice President of Marketing for Texas. In this role, she oversees regional pursuit and communication marketing efforts. She works closely with business acquisition and operations leaders on sales strategy and partners with teams to communicate the value of great ideas. She also provides strategic training for operations and marketing staff engaged in the sales process and is a member of Balfour Beatty’s Marketing Communication Leadership Team serving to guide and direct the company’s national marketing and communications strategy.
Her 20-year career began in the public sector, assisting with the development of capital improvement programs. Over the years, she has worked alongside planners, architects, engineers, and construction management professionals, which has provided her a deep understanding of the complexities of marketing for each discipline. Her experience includes pursuit management, brand management, and communication strategy, client relationship management, and business development planning. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Technical Writing from the University of North Texas.
Rana has focused her career on building creative teams that use collaboration as the pathway from creativity to achievement. She believes that through team collaboration, the spark of an idea catches the imagination of others who consider all the possibilities that the idea can become. These ideas build cities and promote economic growth in key market sectors: corporate office, criminal justice, civic, education, healthcare, hospitality, interiors and special projects, public assembly, and mixed-use.
