  • 9:10am – 9:45am Keynote Presentation: "How IT can Participate in your Digital Business – and make an Impact!"

In most traditional organizations, IT is a back-office function that focuses on Operations and cost control, spending little time with Customers and Products. But in a company transforming into a Digital Business, teams that work with Information and Technology have a much greater change to participate in those connections – and will very probably be on the team that reacts to and delivers on the ideas that are generated. Should IT play a key role in a Digital Business? This presentation will provide some context for the idea – with real-world examples and stories of what works.

  • 10:40am – 11:00am Thought Leadership Spotlight featuring Oracle: "Data Capital In The Enterprise: The Hidden Data Economy"

Inside every company is a hidden data economy, and for most it’s split in two.  IT's command economy produces a limited set of authoritative data products for the business to consume largely as-is. And then there’s the gray market, a chaotic back-and-forth where the insatiable demand of data scientists, analysts, and developers creates its own data supply through modified extracts of official corporate sources, third-party feeds, and new observations derived through use of the data itself. Visionary CIOs must combine these two approaches to exploiting data capital into something new: an internal regulated market economy in data that allows faster innovation but within corporate safeguards. This presentation will summarize Oracle’s latest thinking on enterprise architecture and how innovations in cloud, microservices, and data management work together to help CIOs bring their firm’s data economy into the light.
