Fireside Chat featuring Capsule: "Building Real-Time Feedback Loops in Healthcare"

The $425 billion pharmacy system is broken. The system doesn't work for consumers, providers, pharmaceutical companies, or insurers. Consumer preferences have shifted to mobile and on-demand retail experiences. Medication is increasingly disconnected from healthcare while the value-based system increasingly requires medication to become an integral part of delivering outcomes. The role of medication in achieving outcomes has changed, magnifying the negative implications of the existing disconnect between medication and healthcare. The volume of prescriptions is growing but that data is not being aggregated and fed back to the system to influence outcomes. This session will discuss how healthcare is approaching these problems and how Capsule, a startup pharmacy and tech platform, is working towards a solution.

The US Healthcare industry is currently undergoing a tremendous amount of change.  Consolidation of providers, changing business models, and ever increasing amounts of regulation have generated an almost infinite number of projects demanding attention.  Of course, there is also the desire to do work the enterprise views as important to their own strategic goals.  What is an IT organization to do?

While there are no perfect solutions to this dilemma there are several techniques that can be useful for making sense out of the chaos and ensuring that IT resources are being put to the best use.
