Roundtable Discussions: "Back to Basics - Focusing on Security Architecture & Strategy"

In a world of increased sophistication, frequency and impact of cyber-attacks, security executives often struggle to juggle through priorities. How to stop the bleeding and staying ahead in the game with bad actors is a question that CISOs are often thinking in their minds. Considering cyber-attack is unavoidable, what should the security executives do to proactively prevent attacks and protect assets? This presentation will explain how going back to the basics and building a strong architecture practice helps cyber organizations to avoid shiny-toy syndrome and build a strategic risk-based controls maturity.

Join us for an interactive discussion as we hear from an information security leader on bulding a control footprint that is risk based (not driven by industry buzzwords), and diving into a step by step approach on achieving architectural maturity in the security space.

Get involved as the audience participates in roundtable discussions and presents their own experiences and solutions.

3:05pm - 3:50pm
Roundtable Discussions: "A View from the C-Suite: An Insider Threat Case Study"

Gary Berman, Creator of the CyberHero Adventures: Defenders of the Digital Universe, will share his incredible journey from being the CEO of a company that was victimized by a series of insider APT's that spanned an improbable 15 years. Like layers of an onion, as he began to learn of the 19 attack vectors including various types of social engineering, identity theft, corporate espionage and even having 36 people attached to his car's On-Star account, he will share photographic, video and other evidence of the high-level of sophistication of the attackers and the lessons learned from the experience, including dealing with law enforcement.

After the intensity of the first portion of his remarks, you will leave his speech feeling MORE energized about your mission, as he shares his humorous pivot (he refers to himself as the Forrest Gump of cyber security) from being a victim to becoming and advocate and turning his and other real-life cyber crime stories into a super hero comic series that is rapidly gaining positive buzz within the Community."

Join us for an interactive discussion as we hear from an information security leader on how organizations can scale security teams, safeguard digital assets, and protect themselves from the next generation of attacks. Get involved as the audience participates in roundtable discussions and presents their own experiences and solutions.
