Keynote Presentation: "Using Emotional Intelligence to Win the War for Millennial Talent"

In this session you will learn the growth and development of a company—when learning stalls, so does innovation. Starting with New Hire Orientation on day one, the company takes time to not only impart knowledge about the organization but instill a commitment of learning. Employees are given access to a variety of resources to build skills, further learning, and empower them to do the best work of their careers at. This results in a culture where people are not afraid to make mistakes, and constantly push one another to be open and contribute to a learning environment.

During this session you will:

  • Hear more about creating a learning culture that meets your people where they are
  • Discover how to invest in talent in a way that contributes to the growth of a company, not just select individuals
  • Learn how to keep your company’s core values while you innovate and grow as a company

Thought Leadership Spotlight featuring American Management Association: "How the Internet has Affected Today's Learner"

Because of the rapid pace of business and life in general, today’s workers are taking it upon themselves to search out their own skill development.  Learning organizations are embracing the idea of “learner-centric” learning to off-set tighter budgets, smaller staff’s, and increased priorities.  However, many are not thinking through the consequences of such a strategy.  American Management Association (AMA) will share insight from research conducted by Yale University who looked at the impact of self-selected learning as well as discuss how to maximize the impact of this learning strategy.

Employers embark on the hiring journey in pursuit of potential stars. Along the way, however, they encounter moments when human and systemic flaws sometimes lead them to overlook, or unintentionally eliminate, greatness. By working to eliminate bias instead, organizations can ensure they extend offers to the absolute best candidates for jobs, create fairer hiring processes and achieve greatness.
